Modern Fan Company fans started in 1986, when Ron Rezek was approached with the concept of applying new Modern Fan ideas to the century old ceiling fan. Ron Rezek graduated with a B.A. and an M.F.A from University of California in Los Angeles. Ron has also taught at UCLA. He ran ceiling fan and lighting showrooms in Los Angeles and New York, which gave birth to his desire to create the Modern Fan of today. In 1970, he also created a new lifeguard rescue device using rotational molded polypropylene. It is the well known orange buoy held under the arm of a lifeguard, familiar to beach-goers everywhere, as well as fans of the international hit show Baywatch. These modern ceiling fan designs reflect "simplicity in form and economy in production", as said by Ron Rezek of the Modern Fan Company.
The Modern Fan Company is Born
Ron Rezek started the brick and mortar Modern Fan Company in 1997, in Ashland, Oregon. They only design and manufacture modern ceiling fans. There are no traditional style ceiling fans made at the Modern Fan Company. Since then, their line of modern ceiling fans has been revisited and engineered with you in mind. Since their earlier models, each modern fan has been made easier to install, more simple to maintain, and more flexible in specification. These fans show in modern fan finishes, geometric forms, and mechanical simplification. Recently, the Modern Fan Company launched their sister company, the
