Looking for a way to enjoy late summer and early autumn evenings on our new partially-covered patio without being eaten alive by the "tiny black bugs" indigenous to New Hampshire, we decided to install the Casablanca C20G624F, Continental Bullion Black Uplight 60" Outdoor Ceiling Fan with Light & Control to simulate a breeze. Common nuisance insects seem to be less annoying when there is a breeze.

Except for one minor discrepancy, the installation instructions in the manual are excellent - very clear, easy to understand, and complete, with photographs showing just what you should see each step of the way. There is a red flag on the motor, warning that the shipping blocks should be removed before energizing the motor. What I consider a minor discrepancy is that if the warning on the red flag is ignored and the steps blindly followed in the order written in the manual, the fan motor will be energized to test before the shipping blocks are removed. Although this is unlikely to result in damage, it could; and it's never a good idea to energize a motor with the rotor locked so that it cannot rotate.

The excellent quality of the design and construction of this fan was readily apparent to me as I completed its assembly during installation. It appears sturdy, durable, and the fit-and-finish is outstanding.

Upon initial startup, the fan appeared balanced even without using the included balancing kit as there was no perceptible wobble.

The only sound from this fan is that created by the air across the blades when operating at the Max speed setting. There is no audible hum from the motor or click-clacking of bearings as I've heard from other ceiling fans, and the sound of air across the blades is not audible at lower speeds.

This fan creates exactly the atmosphere we sought for our patio - aesthetically and functionally. We are very glad we chose the Casablanca Continental 60"!

We are so pleased with this Casablanca Continental fan, that we are now considering the same model for installation inside our home.
