Hunter Fan Company History
Hunter started with water driven fans. Ceiling fans driven by electricity came later. These were actually among the earliest of any product (ceiling fan or not) to use electricity. Pretty soon, the Hunter Douglas father and son team were shipping Hunter Fans across the country from Syracuse, NY. Later, Hunter Fan moved to Fulton, NY, before eventually settling down in Memphis, TN. At the turn of the century Hunter fans were belt driven, came with two blades, and you could upgrade to a four blade model. Hunter Fan Company recently celebrated their 120th anniversary. Almost every Hunter fan features an AirMax Motor, which is made to be whisper quiet and wobble free.
