We purchased this for a child's bedroom. It was our first-time installing a ceiling fan. We did ask an electrician neighbor a couple questions to make sure we got the wireing right. Directions were slightly confusing but we figured it out. Fan looks nice in the room. Would buy again.

PRODUCT: There is no receiver in this fan so if you want to use remote you would have to purchase additionally receiver along with transmitter. This fan/light can be hardwired to a wall switch (3 wire with ground). You can use a 3 speed control (do not use variable speed) for the fan and can use dimmer for the light. Since the light fixture uses the standard E26 socket you just have to replace the non-dimmable CFLs with incandescent bulbs or in my case I used LED bulbs.
QUALITY: Directions are wanting. Although the box shows the alabaster bowl type fixture the directions were for the triple hang down light fixtures. You have to figure out how to assemble the bowl. Also I noticed that the light box assembly was not parallel with the fan motor so my bowl fixture is slightly tilted. It is not bad but you can see it.
VALUE: They do get you on the flush mount kit - an additional $15. They could substitute the 2 items in this kit with the comparable parts of the main fan unit since you can flush mount or pole hang mount with this kit. Basically there is additional screw threaded attachments added to the side of the mounting bracket for flush mount option.
OVERALL: Fan was good purchase for what I wanted; high CFM, looks nice, light dimmable, quiet - at a very good price through delmarfans.com.
