We have gas logs in our family room, but all the warm air went to the top of our tall ceiling. We installed this fan and the temp went up 10 degrees in this room. With the fan running we don't need to run the gas logs nearly as much. The air circulation on medium speed is more than enough to push the warm air down to where we are.
The wobble is very minor or this product would have received 5 stars.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
