This is a very well made fan. Assembly is a breeze, and Emerson included extra fasteners just in case. I am a stickler for a well balanced fan and it took me 1.5 hrs and I had to put weights on two blades. I recently purchased and installed a top of the line Cassablanca DC fan and it needed very little to balance it. The Cassablanca is perfectly balanced and the Emerson has a little wobble.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

    This fan with it's DC motor runs continuously in our family room - day and night. No fear of overheating the unit. The wall control unit is also great with LED lights indicating fan speed selected. My only dislike was with the blades I ordered as a 2nd choice. Would have preferred the solid work blades I originally ordered but were unavailable at the time.

    Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
