I had a Hunter that died and replaced it with one of these. It is installed in the master bedroom and is used in lieu of AC.
The first month it was quiet then for no apparent reason it began to hum. The hum was not speed or direction dependent.
DelMar bent over backwards to help and a replacement is on the way as I write this.
I like the fan and hope the new one lasts a long time.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
