At first I wasn't going to change out the florescent box lighting as part of my kitchen remodel, but I'm glad I did. This fixture looks awesome and adds a unique focal point to the kitchen. I like the simple design and it fits in well with the rest of the kitchen elements. It did take 2 guys to install since it is a bit heavy and has a non-standard mounting plate that needs to be screwed into wood. A metal ceiling fan bracket will not work with this fixture and wood to span studs may be required to make a secure installation. I think this fixture is also better suited for higher ceilings so that enough chain can be utilized to complete the look while keeping it high enough to minimize bumping your head on the pots.
I'm using florescent R20 (50 watt equivalent), and it doesn't give off much light. The light is a nice warm glow for evening, but other lighting should be included when bright light is needed.
Because of the chains, it does move quite a bit when adding and removing pots. Care should be taken to keep weight balanced and also when taking pots on and off.
