Comments about Minka-Aire F502-BCW, Traditional Gyro Belcaro Walnut Dual 42" Ceiling Fan with Light & Wall Control:
The decorative scrolls attach with small pot-metal tabs that are so fragile they practically fall off. Then the scrolls fall off the fan. The attachments should be steel.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Unique & Classic Look
By Paul of Key West
from Key West, FL
Thought it would be larger from the pictures, but, it fits in well. Install was straight forward. Disappointed the light output is quite dim even at max settings on the remote dimmer, expected more from the included 100 Watt candelabra based bulb. I may switch out the included nearly opaque globe with one more translucent, if I can find one to fit. Looks good and an interesting focal point of my kitchen with a vaulted ceiling. VERY NOISY!!!!
Love the fan. +Important Install Info+
About Me Avid Do-It-Yourselfer
The install instructions do not include ONE VERY IMPORTANT DETAIL. When installing the ceiling bracket, you must be sure to have the bracket square to the room and also note the position of the notch where the ball on the hanger rod fits into. This is all related to the FINAL piece of decorative trim that attaches to the hanger rod and motor (it does not rotate with the fan). If the ceiling bracket is not square to the room, the decorative trim will also not be square to the room. The position of the notch determines the direction the trim piece will be oriented in relation to the room. If you get this wrong like I did, the only fix is to go all the way back to step one and re-install the ceiling bracket. Now that I have installed the fan twice, I am a pro and can tell everyone else what not to do!

It's so unique, and awesome as a fan !
We love our fan, except the lighting is too low !! That is the only flaw we can find. Everyone that sees it has commenting on how nice it looks. It really cools down the room FAST !

Fits in smaller spaces with no downrod too.
We love our Gyro Belcaro Ceiling Fan!
from Sacramento, California
The Gyro Belcaro Ceiling Fan is very attractive. We have received many complements on the way it looks and it operates. We love the fact that you can adjust the heads up or down, and that it circulates the air very well. The fan took time to install due to poor directions given by the manufacture, and we chose to have the wall receiver unit installed by a profesional electrician. If you are a handy person, there is not need to hire professional help. The price for this fan could have been less, but we are proud of its good looks and how well and quiet it works.
