This is a fabulous outdoor fan. Circulates air and cools a large area quickly, without using a lot of electricity. Beautiful design. Would buy again and definitely recommend.

I installed Slipstream in my bedroom which measures about 16.5'x14.5'x9'H. I was concerned that it may overwhelm the room but it did not. The fan blades are 65" across but the motor is only about 8" wide by about 5" tall. The globe hangs down about 3" below the motor and maybe an inch out from the motor. I was upgrading my existing ceiling fan with the hopes of increasing airflow especially around the perimeter of the room. This fan certainly did not disappoint. It moves a very nice amount of air and distributes it to the edges of the room. It seems rock solid with no wobble. I only see 3 minor issues with it (which is the reason for a 4* rating). I knew 2 of the issues before I purchased the fan: 1) the light output is not that much and it uses an unusual bulb (GU24 "squat" CFL), and 2) the cost is a bit higher than I had originally planned on spending. However, I had already tried a fan from the local big box hardware store which was significantly less expensive and performed well except for the annoying somewhat random noises. The 3rd minor issue is a little bit of a "helicoptering" noise on the higher speeds (5, 6). It is a consistent noise and is not intrusive but is noticeable. I have a 72" 9 blade DC motor fan in another room that works wonderfully as well and it does not really make this sound. Of course, the max RPM on the Slipstream 65" fan is 98 whereas the other 72" fan has a max RPM of 81. Interestingly enough, these 2 fans seem to use the same remote control command set and frequency. I changed the remote frequency on the Slipstream to avoid interference. This was the most I had ever spent on a ceiling fan but based on its performance and its initial quality, it looks like it will be worth the purchase price (at least to me). Its long term performance and quality will be the real test.
