How to Keep Your Luxury Fan in Top Shape
If you’re buying a top of the shelf item you’re going to want to keep it in the best condition you can. We’ve created a little guide to help you with routine cleaning, dusting and maintenance.
Dusting. You should routinely dust your fan every few months to help keep clean air flowing around your home and to keep your machine working its best. To dust simply use an extremely soft dry cloth and rub down the fan blades. We recommend putting an old sheet or newspaper down on the ground to catch the dust.
Cleaning fan. To clean your fan first make sure the breaker to your fixture is turned off. Create a solution using a mild soap and warm water. Dampen a soft wash cloth in the solution (wring it out so it’s not soaked) and thoroughly clean fan blades and fixture. Make sure the fan is completely dry before turning back on. Most ceiling fans should be cleaned once or twice a year.
Cleaning Remote. Dampen (do not soak) soft cloth in rubbing alcohol. Gently rub the remote front to back. This will help keep gross germs from traveling around your remote and family.
