Robert Lee came to Atlanta from the farm fields of South Georgia back in the 1930s with nothing but pocket change and hope. His gamble paid off and in 1965, he and his son Fred established Progressive Lighting.
As homebuilders, they were unimpressed with the selection of lighting at local retail stores and that those stores did not deliver to job sites. They launched their business in an old grocery store with homemade shelving and it was a runaway success.
