For this video guide, we installed the Barolo FR31245SPG chandelier by Fredrick Ramond, which has since been discontinued, but the following instructions apply to any chandelier..

  1. Verify that the beam or strut can support the weight of your chandelier. If the eletrical box is mounted directly to the beam, it should support up to 50 pounds of weight.
  2. Unpack the chandelier and read the directions.
  3. Find the recommended chain length using the formula below:

    Ceiling to Table = _____________
    MINUS
    Recommended Height = 32"
    MINUS
    Chandelier Height = _____________
    EQUALS
    Chain Length = ______________
  4. Pre-assemble chandelier; thread wire through chain
  5. Install the mounting bracket to electrical box
  6. Hang the chandelier from the junction box. Remember that the lock nut and the canopy go down the chain before being hung.
  7. Wire the fixture. Ground wires first, secure wires with wire nuts, and tuck into the canopy. Place and secure the canopy.
  8. Assemble the remaining elements of the chandelier; install the light bulbs.
