DALS Lighting

DALS Lighting has built its identity around LED innovation, smart technology, and lighting systems designed to adapt to different applications. From recessed and accent lighting to under-cabinet, decorative, landscape, and connected outdoor lighting, DALS combines technology with practical flexibility for residential and commercial spaces.

Founded in 2008, DALS began with an innovative LED accent-lighting line and progressively shifted its product range toward LED technology. The company introduced smart-home lighting in 2017 and has since expanded into connected lighting, landscape lighting, and decorative applications. That evolution continues to shape the brand today, with DALS focusing on smart, innovative, and emerging lighting technologies.

From LED Innovation to Greater Control

DALS approaches LED lighting as more than a source of illumination. Across its collection, LED technology is used to give homeowners, designers, and contractors greater control over how light looks, functions, and integrates into a space.

One example is 5CCT technology, available across compatible DALS fixtures. Instead of committing to one fixed white-light appearance, 5CCT products allow users to select from multiple color temperatures to suit the room, application, or personal preference.

DALS also uses RGB+CCT technology in compatible smart products, combining adjustable white light with color-changing capabilities. Depending on the product and system, DALS lighting can also provide dimming, scheduling, remote access, and connected control.

This flexibility is central to the DALS approach: the same lighting technology can be adapted to different applications rather than being limited to one fixed lighting experience.

The DALS 12V LED Recessed Super Puck 5CCT demonstrates how DALS applies LED technology to compact, application-focused lighting. Its recessed form keeps the fixture visually discreet, while 5CCT technology allows the light color to be adjusted to suit different spaces and lighting preferences.
The Super Puck illustrates an important part of the DALS approach: even a small fixture can provide flexibility beyond basic illumination. Its compact recessed format makes it suitable for applications where space is limited or where the light source needs to remain unobtrusive, while selectable color temperature gives designers and homeowners greater control over the finished lighting effect.

DALS Smart Lighting and DALS Connect

Smart lighting is an important part of DALS' evolution from LED innovation into connected lighting systems.

The DALS smart ecosystem includes DALS Connect and DALS Connect PRO, with compatible products offering features such as dimming, scheduling, color-temperature adjustment, color control, and remote access. DALS currently supports both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Mesh technologies. Its Wi-Fi system can connect up to 20 devices without a hub, while its Bluetooth Mesh technology can connect more than 100 devices locally, with an optional Pro Hub for remote access.

This approach allows smart technology to extend beyond individual fixtures into recessed, linear, puck, decorative, outdoor, and landscape lighting, creating opportunities to coordinate different types of illumination within a connected lighting plan.

The DALS 48' Smart Outdoor String Light RGB+CCT demonstrates how DALS extends connected LED technology into outdoor applications. Designed for wet locations, the 48-foot string light uses RGB+CCT technology to provide adjustable white light from 2200K to 4000K as well as a full range of color options. It can be dimmed through the DALS Connect app and uses Bluetooth Mesh technology for connected control.

The product also illustrates the practical side of DALS smart lighting. Rather than limiting connected technology to recessed or architectural fixtures, DALS applies it to an outdoor lighting format that can be used for patios, entertaining areas, landscape applications, and other exterior spaces. The result is a familiar string-light format with greater control over brightness, color temperature, color, and lighting effects.

For outdoor installations, the fixture's wet-location rating and other product specifications should always be reviewed against the intended application before installation.

Lighting Systems Designed Around the Application

DALS' collection spans recessed lighting, under-cabinet lighting, linear fixtures, decorative lighting, wall and ceiling fixtures, landscape lighting, and outdoor products. The value of that range is not simply the number of categories; it is how DALS applies LED technology to different lighting requirements.

Recessed fixtures can provide discreet architectural illumination. Linear and puck fixtures can direct task light beneath cabinets and shelving. Wall fixtures can combine decorative form with directional illumination. Landscape and step lights can define outdoor spaces, pathways, and architectural details. Smart products add another layer of control where changing light levels, color temperature, or color is part of the design.

This application-driven approach allows DALS products to participate in different layers of a lighting plan, from ambient and task lighting to accent and architectural illumination.

DALS Under-Cabinet and Task Lighting

Under-cabinet lighting is one of the clearest examples of where DALS' technology-first approach meets an everyday lighting need.

Puck, linear, and tape-lighting solutions can provide targeted illumination beneath cabinets, shelves, and other surfaces without competing visually with the room's primary fixtures. DALS' under-cabinet collection includes linear fixtures with selectable color-temperature options, giving users greater flexibility when matching task lighting to the surrounding space.

The DALS 9" CCT PowerLED Linear Under-Cabinet Light illustrates the brand's emphasis on discreet task lighting. Its compact linear form is designed to remain visually unobtrusive while providing focused illumination beneath cabinetry.

When planning under-cabinet lighting, fixture type, spacing, power method, dimming, and the task being illuminated all affect the final result. Our Under-Cabinet Lighting Types & Installation Guide explains the differences between puck, linear, and tape lighting as well as common installation considerations.

DALS Recessed Lighting for Architectural Applications

Recessed lighting is another important part of DALS' portfolio, with solutions designed for applications where the light source needs to remain visually discreet.

The current DALS recessed collection includes slim panels, regressed fixtures, gimbals, modular systems, linears, and retrofit options. Many compatible products offer 5CCT selection, while other specifications vary by fixture, including CRI, beam angle, wet or damp location suitability, IC rating, and air-tight construction.

The DALS 3" Round Recessed LED Gimbal Light demonstrates the directional side of the collection. Its gimbal design allows light to be directed toward the area where illumination is needed, making it useful for accent and architectural applications.

Choosing recessed lighting involves more than selecting the aperture size. Housing, ceiling construction, insulation, placement, beam direction, and the intended lighting effect should all be considered. Our Recessed Lighting Guide explains these factors in greater detail, including IC-rated versus non-IC-rated fixtures, new-construction versus remodel applications, and ambient, task, accent, and wall-washing effects.

Technology Meets Decorative Design

DALS does not limit LED innovation to concealed architectural fixtures. Its portfolio also brings LED technology, adjustable color temperature, and directional illumination into visible fixtures where the lighting product contributes to the character of the room. This creates an important balance within the brand: technology can improve how a fixture performs without overwhelming its visual design.

A directional wall fixture, for example, can provide focused illumination while becoming part of the architectural composition. A ceiling fixture can use integrated LED technology and selectable color temperature while maintaining a simple, refined profile. The result is a collection in which performance and design are considered together rather than treated as separate priorities.

DALS Outdoor and Landscape Lighting

DALS extends its technology-led approach beyond the interior with outdoor and landscape lighting designed for different exterior applications.

The collection includes path lights, bollards, spot and flood lights, step and deck lighting, hardscape products, transformers, and smart landscape products. DALS also extends its connected-lighting ecosystem into compatible landscape products, allowing smart control to become part of an outdoor lighting plan.

The DALS Camber 120V LED Step Light is designed for both indoor and outdoor applications and offers 5CCT adjustment. It can be used on stairs and decks where discreet accent and safety lighting is needed.
When selecting outdoor or landscape lighting, the fixture's location rating, voltage, installation method, environmental exposure, material, and intended application should be considered together. Product specifications should always be checked before installation.

From LED Accent Lighting to a Connected Lighting Ecosystem

DALS' development reflects the evolution of LED lighting itself. What began with LED accent lighting has expanded into a broader portfolio covering architectural, task, decorative, landscape, outdoor, and connected applications.

That progression gives DALS a distinctive position within the lighting market. The brand is not defined by one fixture style or one room of the home. Instead, its collection is connected by an emphasis on LED technology, adaptability, and greater control over how light is used.

From a recessed fixture that can change color temperature to a smart landscape system that connects multiple outdoor products, DALS gives designers and homeowners more ways to determine how lighting performs within a space.
