Can I cancel or modify my order after it is placed?

Our ability to modify orders after they are placed is extremely limited, and depends greatly on how long ago the order was placed. In short, if an order needs to be modified, the sooner the request is made, the greater our chances of successfully modifying the order before it ships.

Why is the ship time listed on the website different then the ship time I received with my order confirmation email?

Our website lists the average time that an order takes to ship. The ship time emailed with the confirmation is the order fulfillment departments’ best estimate based on current conditions at the warehouse. Most of the time the two estimates will match, and the ship time is only changed when there is a known delay at the warehouse. I.E cases of extreme weather, computer or mechanical malfunctions.

Do you ship internationally?

Do you offer any products in 220V versions?

Yes we do. Just let us know which type of product you are looking to purchase and we will send you a list of 220V options we have available. Please contact a sales representative at or call 800-274-5501.

How long will it take for my order to be delivered? / How soon can I get my order?

Once an item is placed in the cart, simply select view cart and the estimated delivery dates are listed for each shipping method. If you need the order even sooner, please call customer service at 800-724-5501 for additional support.

What is the difference between a low profile fan, a flush mount and a hugger fan? / What is a flush mount or hugger fan?

There is no difference between a low profile fan, a flush mount fan and a hugger fan. All names refer to a fan that is mounted without a downrod (or a downrod of 1 inch or less) so the fan is as close to the ceiling as possible. They are typically used in rooms where the ceiling is less than 9 feet high. The ceiling fan heights all vary by model so be sure to see the “Fan Dimensions” chart listed with each fan on the product page to ensure the fan will mount high enough.

My low profile fan has a gap between the top and the ceiling. Is there something wrong?

Please refer to the installation manual that came with the fan to ensure it was properly installed, or contact the manufactures help desk/ technical support using the number listed in the installation manual for further assistance.

My remote stopped working, what do I do?

First, check the batteries in the remote. If the remote batteries are good follow the manufacturer’s instructions (listed in the installation manual) for resetting the receiver and attempt to sync the remote. If this does not solve the problem please contact the manufactures help desk/ technical support using the number listed in the installation manual for further assistance. The glass arrived broken on my fan/light fixture. Do I need to return everything?

In most cases replacement glass is available, and we will be able to send out the replacement without the need to return the entire item. Please contact customer service at or call 800-724-5501 opt 2 for further assistance.

Can I get replacement parts for my fan?

Depending on the age of the fan replacement parts may no longer be available. Please have the Manufacturer and model number of the fan and email or call 800-724-5501 for further assistance.

How can I find the model number/ manufacturer of my fan?

On the top of the fan motor there should be a sticker that has the manufacturer’s name, the model number of the fan, the serial number, and other information. The sticker can also be on the side of the fan. It is often helpful to use a hand held mirror when you are looking for the sticker on top of the fan.

How can I tell if an accessory will work with my current fan/ the fan I want to order?

Most of the available options for a ceiling fan are listed on the product page on our site. If you would like to add a different item to an existing fan order or already have a fan not listed on the site, please have the Manufacturer and model number of the fan and email or call 800-724-5501 for further assistance.

Which direction should my fan spin in the summer/winter?

The fan should blow the air down in the summer time and pull the air up in the winter. When the fan is on, if the high side of the blade is the leading edge the air will blow down. If the leading edge is the low side of the blade the air will be pulled up. Reference our What is the Proper Ceiling Fan Direction article.

Why does the winter/summer fan rotation graphic appear to be backwards?

The graphic is taken from the view point of standing under the fan and looking up. If the graphic still appears backwards please refer to the previous question.

The item shows available, why does it take so long to ship?

"In Stock" can either mean it is in stock at our warehouse or the manufacturer’s warehouse. Unfortunately, we do not sell all items on a regular basis, therefore we cannot keep these items in stock at our warehouse for space purposes and they must be ordered first. Also some manufacturers will not ship an order directly from their warehouse unless it is over a certain amount. We give the longest amount of time an order could possibly ship just in case the manufacturer does not get your order out according to the timeline most orders usually ship.

Why does the Hunter Original control not work with my Hunter Fan?

The Hunter 27189 wall control and the Hunter 27187 remote control are designed to work with the Hunter Original series of fans only and will not work with any other Hunter fan model.

What is the difference between the different light bulbs that are available?

What is the difference between Candelabra based bulbs and standard or medium based bulbs?

Both types of bulbs are incandescent lights (see our light bulb guide) however the Candelabra based bulbs use a smaller base and have a maximum rating of 60 watts. Otherwise there is no difference in the performance between the two types of bulbs.

My fixture says I need to use a 60 watt bulb. Can I use a bulb of a higher wattage?

It is not recommended that you use a higher wattage bulb than specified. Exceeding the recommended wattage can create a safety risk to your home.

Can I use a dimmer on my low voltage fixture?

Yes. However, make sure that you purchase a dimmer that can be used on a magnetic transformer and a dimmer that is also low voltage. Using the wrong dimmer can cause the bulbs to flicker, resulting in a burned out transformer. If you have any questions please contact a sales representative at or call 800-274-5501 opt 1.

Are fan blades universal?

No! Fan blades are specific to the manufacturer and model number of the fan. Even blades from the same manufacturer may not fit. If you would like to order a replacement set of fan blades please find the manufacturer and model number of the fan and email or call 800-724-5501 for further assistance.

My fan arrived with a seized motor/ won't move after installing?

Most manufacturers use "shipping blocks" inside the motor housing to prevent the fan from spinning in transit. Be sure to check that the shipping blocks have been removed before installing as this will cause the motor to seize if left in.

Where are the rest of the screws for the blade arms?

Some manufacturers use the blade arm screws to attach the shipping blocks to the motor. Please save these screws when you remove the shipping blocks. If you are still missing parts please email or call 800-724-5501 for further assistance.

What should I do if I need more chain to hang my chandelier?

Determine the additional length of chain that you will need in addition to the standard length that is provided with the chandelier for purchase. The chandelier can then be special ordered with additional chain to your specification.
