Christiane Lemieux, an influential figure in the design world, was born on April 11, 1969, in Ottawa, Ontario. After studying at Queen's University and Parsons School of Design in New York, where she received the Golden Thimble Award, Lemieux embarked on a career that spanned fashion and interior design. She began as a fabric assistant for Isaac Mizrahi and then worked at Gap, before transitioning to home design as a design director at Portico, a New York-based home company.

In 1999, Lemieux founded Dwell Home Furnishings, introducing a bedding and textiles collection and later expanding into custom upholstered furniture, children's furniture, and various home and travel items. Alongside her success in home furnishings, Lemieux is also a best-selling author. Her first book, "Undecorate: The No-Rules Approach to Interior Design," published in 2011, was met with critical acclaim. She followed this with "The Finer Things" in 2016, a bestseller on Amazon, and "Frictionless," a business book published in 2020 that was shortlisted for the Porchlight Business Book of the Year. Her third design book is set to be published in Spring 2023.

Lemieux's entrepreneurial spirit led her to launch several successful brands in the home design space. This includes The Inside, a direct-to-consumer, technology-driven home furnishings brand where she served as CEO, and Cloth&Company, a made-on-demand home furnishings brand. In 2020, she introduced LEMIEUX ET CIE, a luxury home furnishings brand that was initially available only in Europe and later expanded to the U.S. and Canada. Lemieux has also been an active investor in the Consumer and Tech sectors, with a focus on supporting female founders and promoting inclusivity and diversity.

Her contributions to the design industry have been recognized with numerous accolades, including being listed among House Beautiful’s 2020 Visionaries and Fast Company’s 2020 Most Innovative.

Throughout her career, Christiane Lemieux has demonstrated a remarkable ability to blend creative vision with entrepreneurial acumen, significantly impacting the design and business landscapes. Her diverse achievements reflect her commitment to innovation, quality, and inclusivity in design.
