How to Install a Casablanca Stealth Ceiling Fan

Casablanca Stealth Installation Video Tutorial

For this video, we used a Casablanca Stealth ceiling fan in a brushed nickel finish.

Nada:Hi I'm Nada with Del Mar Fans & Lighting and we are here today to install the Casablanca Stealth fan. I will be installing it and Colby is here to assist me.

Colby:Before you begin turn the power off at the circuit breaker box.

Nada:Fortunately the installation manual has pictures of all these parts so that you can help identify them.

Colby:Thanks Nada.

Colby:Well we'll start by installing the mounting bracket that came along with the Stealth fan. After you have the mounting bracket installed, we'll begin installing the canopy. The canopy the hardware set comes with four screws and locknuts. Each one will go in here and mount directly to the mounting bracket.

Colby:Next utilize the packing materials upside down to support the fan while installing the PermaLock downrod. Cut the wires six inches outside of the downrod that you intend to use. Loosen the set screw before you screw in the PermaLock downrod. Tighten the set screw to ensure a secure and stable installation. Install the blade tips to the blades before assembling them on the motor body. Assemble the blades on the motor housing using the fiber washers and the screws that come along with the fan. Be sure that the fiber washer is in between the blade arm and the blade to ensure the blades do not wobble in the future.

So next, we're going to hang the fan to the canopy that's mounted to the mounting bracket. Nada this is going to be heavy so I'll stand back. Okay. Now you'll notice that there's a tongue and groove on the ball joint and in the canopy and you move it until it locks into place. Next, we'll wire the Casablanca Stealth.

Nada:It's really important to get the colors right in this step because otherwise, you have like an explosion.

Colby:You're absolutely right Nada. So we'll start with the green for ground, and then we'll do the black for power, and then we'll do the neutral for white.

Next I'm going to install the hatch. Thanks, Nada. When installing the hatch, tilt the motor outwards so it's easier to access where the screw screws into the mounting plate.

Nada:I don't know about you Colby but I'm getting tired. I need a break.

Colby:Next I'm going to install the halogen light bulbs and the glass diffuser. Thanks, Nada. With a little help. With the halogen bulb, it's very important not to touch it directly with your fingers because the oils on your fingers will reduce the life of the bulb. So I like to keep it wrapped as I'm installing it into the socket. And the glass diffuser slides into the slots and then locks into place.

STEP-BY-STEP CASABLANCA STEALTH FAN INSTALLATION PROCESS

Installing the Casablanca Stealth ceiling fan is a stress-free process. Prior to installing the ceiling fan, turn the power off at the circuit breaker box, verify that all ceiling fan parts and hardware are accounted for, and review the owner's manual as a guide.

Attach the mounting bracket to the outlet box.
Attach the fan canopy to the mounting bracket.
Assemble and attach the PermaLock ceiling fan downrod to the motor housing.
Attach the blade tips to the fan blades. Attach the blades to the blade holders on the motor housing with the screws and washers provided.
Hang the ceiling fan from the canopy.
Wire the ceiling fan in the following order: green wires, white wires, and black wires. Secure connections with wire nuts.

Install the canopy hatch to the mounting bracket with the screws provided. (TIP: Tilt the motor outward for easier access)
Thread the halogen light bulb into the light socket. (NOTE: Touching the bulb directly shortens its lifespan)
Thread the light diffuser into the motor housing.

Once your Casablanca Stealth ceiling fan has been installed, restore the power and test the ceiling fan. Run the ceiling fan at the highest speed setting to rule out wobbling, shaking, or balance issues. In addition, confirm that the light turns on and off.
